The number two airline alliance globally in passenger transportation

SkyTeam

Air France-KLM is a founding member of SkyTeam which has become, since its inception in 2000, the number two airline alliance globally in terms of market share. SkyTeam brings together 13 member airlines: Aeroflot, AéroMexico, Air Europa, Air France, KLM, Alitalia, China Southern, CSA, Delta Airlines, Kenya Airways,  Korean Airlines, Tarom and Vietnam Airlines. The alliance serves the greatest number of countries world-wide with more than 13,133 daily flights to 898 destinations in 169 countries.

In April 2009, a centralized management entity was created, reporting to a Managing Director. This central entity is responsible for marketing, sales, airport synergies, the transfer product, cargo, advertising and the brand as well as for the alliance finances and administration. In liaison with the Governing Board and the Steering Committee, it implements plans to support SkyTeam's development.

Market share increased by the arrival of new partners

The alliance is currently leader in the largest European American and Asian markets where 80% of global air traffic is concentrated. It continues to develop, welcoming two new companies in 2010, Vietnam Airlines and Tarom. Elsewhere, China Eastern has announced its intention to join during 2011.

An efficient global network to improve the customer offer

In order to rationalize their costs, the SkyTeam member airlines operate their flights under codeshare. Commercial and technical synergies generated inside the alliance enable gains in terms of efficiency and service quality. SkyTeam customers thus benefit from numerous advantages, ranging from destinations and flight times to a harmonized offer and exceptional fares.

SkyTeam Cargo, a leading cargo alliance

Air France–KLM is also a member of SkyTeam Cargo. This global alliance dedicated to cargo has seven airline members who combine their experience and expertise to offer an innovative air freight service: AeroMexico Cargo, Air France Cargo, KLM Cargo, Korean Air Cargo, CSA Cargo, Delta Air Logistics, Korean Air Cargo. With more than 15,000 daily flights to 728 strategic commercial destinations in 149 countries, SkyTeam Cargo is the leading cargo alliance world-wide.
